The December - January inaugural exhibit at Electro Lift Artworks featured David Husom's large scale digital type C prints of images from 2003 to 2005 of rural and small town Minnesota and Wisconsin.
David Husom first established himself with a series of photographs documenting all 89 county fairgrounds in Minnesota. Working in large format with 4x5 color film, Husom focuses on the vernacular architecture of the Midwest, addressing ideas of sameness through the documentation of ordinary places, familiar buildings and interiors. David takes us into rural Wisconsin and Minnesota town hall voting rooms and church basements -- rooms emptied of personal effects or apparent human presence. 10 of David’s photographs were featured in an recent exhibition at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles.
