Sunday, August 22, 2010, 04:27 PMI never cease to be amazed at how many really great and hardworking artists there are in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa these days. Everywhere you turn there seems to be another art crawl. But I have to admit I was particularly thrilled to see that the Longfellow neighborhood of Minneapolis is not only hosting a studio tour, but that there are 84 artists at 46 sites!
My father grew up in Longfellow and I spent a lot of time there as a child. When I lived just across the river in St. Paul I was a regular visitor to the Riverview Theatre and area restaurants. Thus I was really pleased to hear that Kendrick Wronski was a part of the Longfellow art tour. We recently printed some large prints (30" to 36") of her work. Copyright Kendrick Wronski. It is a great neighborhood to visit and live in. Stop by her studio at site number 46. Enjoy...

Friday, June 18, 2010, 06:44 PMWe recently had the pleasure of printing for Cynthia Starkweather-Nelson for a series of shows she has coming up. The first show is a two person exhibit with Bonnie Cutts at the Unity Church - Unitarian in St. Paul. The show is up until July 31st at 432 Holly Ave, St Paul, MN 55104.
Cynthia, a well know Twin Cities artist and printmaker has been exhibiting for a number of years in Minnesota, the Midwest and around the country. We were excited to be able to reproduce both some of her paintings and a woodblock print. The final print we made for Cynthia's work Shoreline, shown at the right, was 24X36. Saturday, June 5, 2010, 06:28 PMRuss Bolt, a Boston based photographer who we often print for, has an exhibit titled Chamber Light now up at the Mayor's Gallery at the Boston City Hall.
Russ has been exploring HDR (High Dynamic Range) shooting at Fort Warren in the Boston Harbor. We printed the image shown here at 30X44 and it looked stunning. By combining different exposures Russ held detail in both the brightest highlights and the darkest shadow. It created a wonderfully rich image.
To see more of Russ' work stop by the show, if you are in Boston. Or look at his Website here: www.russbolt.com

Monday, March 29, 2010, 03:55 PMLast year Tim Turenne won the Trout Stamp competition in Minnesota. This year he has had another victorious year winning the 2010 Minnesota Walleye stamp. For me walleye are not only the best fish to eat, but they are Minnesota's best catch as well. Tim's big lunker is going after a lure on a rocky bottom lake or river. You can feel the anticipation anyone who fishes for walleye knows first hand. Although a Walleye Stamp is not required to fish for this species, purchasing the stamp does help the DNR with stocking and management programs.
We have helped Tim create limited edition Giclee prints of the winning design. The lusciously colored and richly detailed 7X9 images are printed on 10X12 heavyweight archival Museo paper using archival Ultrachrome K3 inks.
For information on catching one of these fine specimans contact Tim at: firstname.lastname@example.org. Or visit his site at:www.wildforlife.net
